Seeking Dentists’ Input on Pandemic Plan

In 2009, CDA's Committee on Clinical and Scientific Affairs developed a Pandemic Plan jointly with the provincial and territorial dental associations. The plan provides an overview of pandemic influenza and strategies for dental practices in caring for patients and maintaining business continuity.

Although the 2009 H1N1 influenza pandemic proved to be generally mild and Canadian health services were able to mitigate the effects of the virus and avoid a more serious public health crisis, many issues emerged during the pandemic, raising questions about the capacity of the health care system and the appropriate level of intervention in such circumstances.

CDA would appreciate feedback from Canadian dentists via a short questionnaire about the usefulness of CDA's Pandemic Plan—which was developed to be read in conjunction with existing provincial and territorial guidance documents.

Your responses will be anonymous and confidential and will be instrumental in helping CDA prepare for future public health challenges.
