Improvement in the Oral Health of Canadians
The publication of the oral health component of the Canada Health Measures Survey (CHMS) reveals that the oral health of Canadians has improved over the last 30 years. CDA and the Office of the Chief Dental Officer worked together to ensure that oral health data was included in this national health survey. Although the CHMS results indicate that the current oral health care system is benefitting the majority of Canadians, CDA will continue to advocate for improved access to care. Read more

Dr. Ronald Smith: At the Helm of CDA
Dr. Ronald Smith of Duncan, British Columbia, is CDA’s new president. Dr. Smith brings years of experience to the role, having served in various capacities with the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia, the British Columbia Dental Association and CDA. Moving from process to progress will be the guiding principle during his tenure, as he believes all parties within Canadian organized dentistry are ready to work collegially on important oral health projects. An avid sailor, Dr. Smith will “captain the CDA ship” in the coming year. Read more
