Faculty Position - College of Dentistry
The College of Dentistry invites applications from qualified individuals for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Orthodontics. The successful candidate will be required to deliver didactic, pre-clinical and clinical teaching; supervise student research projects; initiate, lead and participate in research activities; compete successfully for external funding to support this research program; and undertake relevant administrative activities including meetings and committee work. Opportunity to engage in the College’s faculty practice clinic is also available.
We seek candidates who have completed graduate specialty training in Orthodontics at the Masters or PhD level or equivalent; have a strong or emerging research program; have demonstrated effective classroom and clinical teaching skills and mentorship and possess effective written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Candidates must also demonstrate a commitment to embracing the latest evidence-based developments in Orthodontics technologies. The successful candidate must have passed the National Dental Specialty Examination (NDSE) in Orthodontics administered by the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, or be eligible to apply for this examination by having completed a specialty training program in Orthodontics that is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada (CDAC) or the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) in the United States http://www.rcdc.ca/en/examination/eligibility. Candidates must be licensed or eligible for licensure by the College of Dental Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CDSS) and are encouraged to familiarize themselves with Saskatchewan licensing requirements: http://www.saskdentists.com/licensing. Candidates are encouraged to have or to obtain Fellowship from the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. All candidates should familiarize themselves with these processes. The salary bands are: Assistant Professor $93,293 - $112,109; Associate Professor $112,109 – $130,925; Full Professor $130,925 - $152,877. Independent of rank, a starting salary above the standard salary bands is possible in rare and exceptional circumstances pursuant to Article 126.96.36.199 of the 2014-2017 USFA Collective Agreement (see: http://www.usaskfaculty.ca/?attachment_id=3298). This position includes a comprehensive benefits package which includes a dental, health and extended vision care plan; pension plan, life insurance (compulsory and voluntary), academic long term disability, sick leave, travel insurance, death benefits, an employee assistance program, a professional expense allowance and a flexible health and wellness spending program.
